＜発表論文要旨＞
　The purpose of this paper is to examine effects of a measured aggregate productivity shock on asset returns. To achieve this, a simple Real Business Cycle (RBC) model is presented to show that an aggregate productivity shock can be identified as a factor affecting asset returns. Then, Solow's productivity residual is chosen as a proxy for the measured aggregate productivity shock for empirical investigations. One of the valuable contributions of this study is its incorporation of recent　macroeconomic developments on variable factor utilization. In particular, it deviates from the conventional method of growth> accounting to adjust for the cyclical variation of the conventional Solow residual. By doing so, this study seeks to understand a role of the adjusted Solow residual in explaining asset returns. This study shows that the asset returns tie with capital returns based on the standard business cycle model without adjustment costs. Then, it empirically evaluate the relationship with VARs. Although the model is not based on sticky prices, the measured technological progress generates dynamics very similar to Basu, Fernald, and Kimball’s (2004) results. The empirical investigations based on post-World War II U.S. data document significant differences between the conventional Solow residual and the adjusted Solow residual in their dynamic effects on asset returns. An interesting aspect is that the technology improvements have delayed effects on asset returns, implying that asset returns could be predictable.
