-Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary-
The 2005 Aoyama Symposium on International Communication
"Exploring the Current Status and Future Direction of International Communication as a Field of Study"

   On Saturday, March 5, the International Communication faculty at Aoyama Gakuin University's, School of International Politics, Economics, and Business will sponsor an international communication symposium upon celebrating our 10th anniversary. This is one of numerous symposiums that we've been sponsoring in order to promote active dialogue on various issues involving international communication among scholars around the world. The goal of this year's symposium is to explore the current status of the field of international communication and how the field can contribute to making the world a better place to live in through political, ecological, social and psychological collaborative endeavors beyond national and cultural borders. In this symposium, four distinguished communication scholars will present cutting-edge research. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Gary Weaver of American University in Washington, D.C. There will also be three panel presentations by communication scholars who teach at Japanese universities: Dr. Adair Linn Nagata from Rikkyo Graduate School of Intercultural Communication, and Prof. Nobuyuki Honna and Dr. Richard Evanoff from the School of International Politics, Economics, and Business at Aoyama Gakuin University.
